The Roma Community - Helsingør, Denmark: 

Our ministry within the Roma Community can be described as that “slow but sure, walk up the hill,” We are seeing the Love of God transform many lives in the Roma Community. 

Our ministry within the Roma community is not something we take lightly, but we see it as a Call from the Lord Jesus. We believe that God loves all of His creation, and it is His will that His Love reach also the Roma Community.  

Dream from God:

In 2007, I had a special dream that I strongly believe was from God, where I saw myself walk up a hill very slowly together with a very, very old Roma woman whose face was full of many wrinkles. This woman was wearing an exceptionally special skirt made of such delicate and beautiful material that I could not help noticing. As I walked up the hill with this woman, I was very aware of the fact that I was concerned about whether or not I could trust her coming into my home, but nevertheless, I took her into my home and invited her to a cup of tea. Important to note is that by the time I had this dream; we had no Roma connections, and did not know anyone from that community. However when I woke up from this dream, I understood that God had plans for us to have something to do with the Roma/Gypsy Community, we just did not know what it was or when it would be.

Background:

Shortly after this dream, we were contacted by a Roma family in 2007, who had seen us minister and listened to one of our teachings in a church in Helsingør and therefore came to us to specifically ask for prayer and deliverance for their son. This led to a new found friendship with this family.

Establishing the foundation for the first Roma Church in Helsingør, Denmark 2008:

A few months later, another Roma couple who had also been exposed to our ministry in Helsingør felt the need to start a Roma Church. So they contacted us to come and help them start this Church in Helsingør by pastoring it. When I asked them why they contacted us, According to the Roma woman, she explained that Carol’s name kept coming to her mind concerning starting the church, so she looked everywhere she could for our tel. No. and kept asking around until she found it. Therefore in 2008, we assisted in laying the foundations for establishing the very first Roma church in Denmark which was called at that time, “Al Ære til Herren” meaning “All Glory to the Lord” in English.Today this Church in it´s original form is no longer there.

These two events were the beginnings of our sharing the gospel with the Roma Community in the Helsingør Region. Since then, we have had many house meetings, church meetings as well as travelled to Sofia, Bulgaria 2011 where we met Roma Church leaders.

Today, in the River of Life Kristne Center, we have several Roma families as part of the Congregation.
